1. Ukhimath
Ukhimath village is situated in Rudraprayag and is named as the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath. During winters, Lord Kedarnath is worshipped at this site because of the heavy snowfall in Kedarnath during winters. In addition, Ukimath houses the temple of Shiva and Parvati as well as that of Usha and Anirudh.
2. Chandrashila
Chandrashila is the summit of mountain where Tungnath Mandir and Chopta are situated. Visitors can enjoy the view of snow covered mountains including Kedar, Nandadevi, Chaukhamba and Trishul peaks from Chandrashila. 3. Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary
Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary is another prominent attraction situated in Chopta-Gopeshwar road. It extends over an area of 5 sq. km. and houses rare Himalayan wildlife. The sanctuary is known for breeding musk deer and has dense forest and diverse species of fauna.
4. Deoria Tal
Deoria Tal is located nearby Chopta and is situated at a height of around 2,400 m above the sea level. Travellers can see the reflection of Chaukhamba peaks in the water of the lake.
5. Tungnath Mandir
Tungnath Mandir is the prime attraction nearby the Chopta village in Uttarakhand. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva which is situated at a height of 3,680 m above the sea level. According to mythology, Ravana performed penance in order to please Lord Shiva at this site.The temple has the idols Adi Shankaracharya, the Pandavas, Ved Vyasa and Kaal Bhairav.
6. Rudranath Mandir
Rudranath Mandir is a rock temple that is located in the Chamoli District nearby Chopta village. One of the Panch Kedars, Lord Shiva is worshipped as Neelkanth in this temple. Vaitrani River also known as the ‘Water of Salvation’ flows behind the Rudranath Temple. Numerous kunds can be seen by travellers nearby the temple, namely the Tarakund and the Suryakund. The Anusuya Devi Temple also lies in the vicinity of the Rudranath Mandir.
7. Kalpeshwar Mandir
Kalpeshwar Mandir is visited to worship Lord Shiva as ‘Jatadhar’, because of the existence of entwined hair. It is situated at a height of 2,134 m above the sea level in Chamoli district. This is the only temple out of the five temples of Panch Kedar that remains open in all the seasons.The temple tree Kalpavriksha acts as a perfect spot for sages for meditating.
